The MISS UNIVERSE Organization (MUO) produces the internationally recognized MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA®, and MISS TEEN USA® competitions.
 The MISS UNIVERSE® and Miss USA® competitions air as live specials and  consistently rank among the worlds most-watched television programming. MUO empower women to develop the confidence they need to achieve their personal best. A confident woman has the power to make real change, starting in her local community with the potential to reach a global audience. MUO encourages every woman to get out of her comfort zone, be herself, and continue to define what it means to be Confidently Beautiful. MUO has been owned by IMG (International Management Group) since 2015.

The Miss Universe Japan pageant existed from 1952 to 1995 and 1998 to present.  Miss Universe Japan produced 2 winners at Miss Universe competition, Akiko Kojima won Miss Universe 1959 and Riyo Mori won Miss Universe 2007. IMG appointed Hiroko Mima as Miss Universe license holder and National Director in Japan since 2018. She is the first Japanese woman to be the license holder and National Director.

Hiroko Mima is the National Director of Miss Universe Japan and the President and Representative Director of MY group Co,. Ltd.. She received the Miss Universe license in 2018 from IMG LLC, headquartered in the US, and will represent Miss Universe in Japan. She is well known as Miss Universe Japan 2008, Top 15 and Best of Asia winner at the 2008 Miss Universe competition. After winning 2008 Miss Universe Japan , she modeled internationally for numerous renowned brands such as DIESEL, Levi's, Revlon, Harley Davidson, Under Armour, Evian, Jaguar and Toni & Guy.

She works as a Fashion and Beauty specialist and she trains numerous beauty pageant contestants such as Miss Universe Indonesia, Singapore & Japan and Miss Grand International Thailand & Japan. Using the experience, she created the curriculum for a fashion and beauty school called "World Class Beauty Academy" and "World Class Beauty Fashion course school" in 2015.

Currently, she oversees a new beauty school called “MY beauty” under her company’s name. She has experience working in Singapore as a manager for a beauty studio focusing on all levels of the business including; fashion and beauty coaching, styling, retail, events, fashion shows, hosting, merchandising, branding, model training, business initiatives, sales and marketing. She also was a team member of a PR and Marketing company called "Levitate Studios" as Agent Director to focus on Japanese communication for Fashion, Beauty and Health projects within Singapore, China and Denmark.


A "beautiful woman“ is a woman who fascinates people with humility and intelligence.

 They empower women and play an important role in society.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan will bring a global focus to the country and its culture. Miss Universe Japan will beworking with key partners during this exciting time to grow awareness on our new approach to beauty.

For the first time 2019 Miss Universe Japan will hold auditions in 7 different regions to establish a new “Miss Universe Japan” brand. From 2020,

we are planning to do the competition in 47 different prefectures.


We will have a spokesperson/ambassador of Miss Universe Japan in each prefecture to show the people of Japan what we stand for. Ultimately, we as an organization, will create role models for all Japanese and Asian women alike.

Being a part of Miss Universe Japan will give one access to a growing pool of followers and influencers.

 Our social media network will be launched in 2019 across all popular platforms. Combined representation across official Miss Universe Japan winners, ambassadors and contestants will be supported by the National Director to market the organization and its partners products.

With a current reach of 160k followers we plan to grow this number exponentially with our new campaign in 2019.

Regular press releases and interviews will be held individually or at events. These will also include opportunities for our sponsors to be recognized and promoted.
